Essential on the MTS, I now have tinnitus from using cheap foam plugs last year, currently using custom moulded plugs that I got at the NEC show.

I use the Alpine MotoSafe silcone ear plugs.  They come with a couple of tunable inserts to allow you to filter out certain frequencies, and certainly fit securely and are more comfortable than the annoying squidgy, foam ear plugs - for me anyway.  However, I find they perhaps let a little too much noise through, so plan to try the custom fit guards (with a TMF discount!) when I am back in work, which I hope will be during September!  Will be interested to hear what others think of their chosen protection.... :038:

I liked the Alpine Moto Safe too. Comfortable and effective.  But i recently discovered Surefire ear plugs that suit me even better. They have optional high/low filters too but they also are coloured to distinguish left from right and have a frame that sits on the outer ear and stops them slipping too far into the ear and becoming hard to remove without tweezers - I found the pro guard plugs very prone to doing that.

I use Auritech plugs for longer trips and motorways etc. Otherwise I don't bother for commuting and minor roads. I already have tinnitus though. Not from biking, but from other things going 'bang'.

I have an old set of custom plugs that I should probably replace with new ones.

+1 on the Auritech plugs.

I recommended them to Clanger recently and he is also a convert now!
Sometimes you need a really crooked road to get your head straight

ProActiv Customized (custom fit) but would still like more protection.

Maybe I'll just have to admit defeat and buy/fit an MRA Vario to reduce the noise/turbulence in the first place

Growing up on Harley Davidsons.  My brother and i rode rode cross country (USA) with no helmets, in T-shirts and straight pipes.
It was fun being young foolish and whats that didnt hear you.
