2020 Multistrada 950S
« on: May 03, 2020, 01:02:57 AM »
Any difference between the 2020 and the 2019 Multistrada 950S?  I do not believe so.
I don't normally buy first year release, but in reality the bike has been released in 2017 and the S features came in 2019, I do not believe it to be a new bike.
Am I wrong?
There are some leftovers 2019 at a big discount compared to  the 2020.
Thank you,

Hi @eram310,

No changes from 2019 to 2020 950S. I just bought a 2019 950S about 2 months ago, and am really liking it.

Cheers

Thanks fipenna,
I still haven't made up my mind.
My main all-around motorcycle is a 2015 Yamaha Super Tenere ES.
I love the freight train stability and electronic suspension.
I don't like the weight, and the seat comfort.
Looking for something lighter.
I have to  take one for a test ride to  make up my mind.
1-2 years ago I took a new BMW R120RGS for a test ride and didn't think the weight difference was significant.
It was on Motorcycles such as the GS800 or the Tiger 800.

Hi eram310, I just traded a GS1200 for a Multi 950S to also get something lighter. The GS was great on the road with more power than the 950S , but is also heavier, so not much in it feel wise.
The Tenere is a great bike, never heard of any problems with them and the folk that have them seem to love them BUT it is heavy and about the same power as the 950S. I've only had the Multi about 8 months and really like it, having changed the seat, added engine bars and a small top box, still getting to grips with the dash and suspension settings, though all good on the road.
I also run a Triumph Tiger 800 XRX and that also is a great bike, feels even lighter than the 950S just different with the triple engine, you pays your money you makes your choice, but try them both....

Hey mcinlb
I know the Tiger 800 very well. I owned one for 3 years  between 2012-2015.
Around 2014-15 I wanted something with more touring capabilities than the Tiger , so I bought the Super T.
I don't plan on long distance 2 up anymore. I do think the Ticket is a Multi 950S, plus it is good to  try a new motorcycle every few years. I am not getting any younger.
What Seat did you end up buying for the Multi?

eram310, didn't buy  a different seat, took the standard 950S seat and had the padding adjusted, had the rear slope on the seat flattened as much as the seat moulding allowed so it didn't slide you towards the front as much. Also reshaped it to try and make it a flatter /wider pan to "spread the load" a bit..  Quite happy with it now, not that it was that bad to start with but I've got a Sargent seat on the Tiger so was trying to emulate that on the 950S..

Julian, there's not much to see photo wise, it's what was done to the seat and how it feels to sit on now...  :002: :002:
