Auxiliary front lights
« on: August 14, 2020, 07:23:32 PM »
Has anyone by chance found an alternative spotlight that can be fitted to the OEM brackets??
Only ones I can find have mountings for the crash bars which I don't have!!
Original spots are typically Ducati expensive😂😂

Anyone know which plug or plugs are for fog lights. i found 2 deadended plugs under left cover. one looked exactly like heated grips plugs with 2 cables and other is a four cable plug and connector. if its the one with the 2 cables , does anyone know where the plug is on the right side? i will try to use the cables coming out of plug for new non oem lights. for the obvious cost reasons.

The OEM supply plug is under the left side panel, it is a 3 pin socket with a black blank plug in it. You need to get the dealership to enable your power supply through the Canbus after you install your lights. There is some debate on the use of a relay, but I dont think that a relay is needed, the Ducati lights seem to be quite low current draw and without a relay. High current draw and the bike throws a fault on the dash, hence the relay matter.

So I found the plug on left side under the tank. It is a three lead plug so that might indicate that there is a relay in the lights.
Ended up not using it as the fog lights go off when you switch to high beam. Who needs that? So ended up wiring lights directly via relay to battery with separate switch.
Not as elegant but at least functional. And i did not have to pay $80 for  activation  . Ducati weaponized electronics are a drag.

Can you let me know where you took your switched supply from please.

I fitted the newer Ducati black LED fogs, took about an hour, the brackets attach to the bike via the top Radiator bolt either side, wiring fiddly but I didn't remove the tank. I just need them enabled now at the dealers.

Fitted and wired my lights without using the bikes harness, Fuzeblocks allows up to 6 set of accessories without the need to interfere with battery terminals. You have the choice of switched or constant feed.
