Parts identify
« on: October 10, 2020, 07:30:38 PM »
Hi all

I bought my 950s with small damage from a crash. Today I did my firsts km after rebuild and everything seems fine and is very enjoyable to ride(on urban mode for now)

But, theres always a but, I have 2 parts that did not find there place, nothing major, just a litle sponge and a small bolt and collar. Can anyone identify them?

Also, I notice some "popcorn" sound on decel from engine/exhaust in second gear low rpm, is it normal?

The spongy peice  looks like the ear cover from a Shoei helmet that covers the inset area for helmet speakers, like from a Cardo or Sena unit. The bolt I do not recognize.

I bet that the sponge it's what Arashi said, and the second looks like the crash bobins from the swingarm.
Where did you find them, or the dealer give them to you?

Regarding the sound, I still have it after more that 30k with the bike. It's there when I "downgrade" the throttle a little bit.

Thanks for the replies.

The sponge was on the damage parts box that dealer gave to me, the bolt just fell off from central area of bike when I started it first time after rebuild.

I think is from some plastic fixation, as I had to replace almost every fairing and rear end, but did not see that bolt during rebuild neither a empty hole for that bolt.

Well then check the bike before and after the ride in the next period...loosen bolts, moving parts etc. Just to be sure.
Enjoy the bike!

I get the popping sound on overrun just after starting when the engine is warm, then it seems to go away. I'm guessing it's something to do with the "choke" system in the injectors and a hot exhaust.

Can't help with the parts though  :027:
Anything more than two wheels is unnecessary.
