New Bike.
« on: January 05, 2021, 11:01:46 AM »
Hi guys, Im glad to say Im back in the fold, well almost anyway. Recently purchased a nearly new 950S from Seastar Superbikes, however when I receive, it is another matter. What with the current lockdown and the bike requiring delivery from Norwich to South Wales it might be sometime?
This bike will be my fourth Multi having a 2011 Multi 1200S followed by a 2017 Multi 950 which I owned for 18 months before putting it in for a White Multi 1200S ...... see images. The Multi 950 is currently up for sale at Completely Motoring in Gloucester..... see images.
Love my Multistradas  been all over Europe on them, never let me down.
Awaiting patiently for my new bike.       Stay safe.

Hi Ducmul
Fellow welshman from Aberdare  :046:
Congratulations on the new purchase  :152: what made you decide the 950S over the 1260?

Hi Steve, thanks for getting in touch and posing the question... why the 950s over the 1260?
There are I suppose a number of reasons but I guess the main reason is expense. The 1260S is very pricey and if you follow the numerous reviews on the 950S it does everything the bigger bike does all be it a little slower, they say the 950S has more useable power and I get that. The 1200S DVT in white I just sold was a beautiful bike... 160bhp....see in images, and I did a lot to it to make it mine. Of course having spent a fortune on it, it was time to let it go.🥲 The 950S came up at a good price I thought, nearly new, just under 600miles and included rack and top box, centre stand, heated grips, oil and radiator guards, Tomtom sat nav mount and spotlights, just couldnt leave it there. Sorry being long winded with the reply. All the best. 👍🍻.

I think you will love the 950S.... its a brilliant bike and has all the power you will ever need for road use  :002:

Lets hope they can get the bike to you during lockdown so at least you can look at it and admire it until lockdown is over and you can finally get it out on the road.
Sometimes you need a really crooked road to get your head straight

Congratulations on the 950s, I couldn't agree more with Wassers on the road use power.

Had mine for nearly 2 years now and it makes me smile like it was the first day over again.
The 1260 would have been fantastic for the power, but the cost didn't justify it. Sure the 950s doesn't have that mental level of power, but give it a handful and you are going plenty fast enough for the road (and then some 😉).

Thanks for your input DesmoD, Im sure theres enough power for me. Looking forward to using the quick shifter.  Did have a 950 from new in 2017 and that was a nice bike however being new the gear shift was hit and miss initially, with problems getting the bike into neutral and back into first particularly.
Took it back to dealers and told it would sort itself out with more miles on the clock to which it did, but it took around 1500 miles !!  Gear change was getting really slick by the time I part exed it for a 1200S. 😂 All the best. 👍🍻 Ps. Hoping this bike will be less problematic in the gear change department. 🤞
