Rear break problem - everything looks ok but doesn't break

Hi,
I bought one month ago a 2017 MTS 950.
Noticed recently that the rear break has no breaking power. I hardly use it, but it's good to know it's there if you need it on an emergency. Checked the pads, disk, bleed the rear brakes (in a Honda Dealer) and it remains useless.
It has only 5000km, any suggestion?

I would say that's pretty normal, most bikes are like that IMO, you really should be using the front brakes for the majority of the time, rear is merely supplemental to smooth things out.

The 950 rear brake is particularly poor.

The pedal is too small and almost under the engine casing making it almost impossible to apply enough pressure.

I fitted an enlargement plate to the pedal and that transformed it. I can now put enough pressure on the brake pedal to hold the bike two up for hill starts.  That was not possible before.

If I remember well the maker was called Alt Rider. The gadget can also be fitted with a raised section for use when standing to ride off road but i didn't bother with that bit,  just the pedal enlarger.

Hi,
I agree that the front brake is the main option to stop the bike. But I can't even stop riding at 5km/h 
My 28 year old Kawasaki ZXR rear brakes better than this MTS.

I have to keep searching for a solution :)

I'll look at the position of the pedal and consider the altrider enlarger.
