Hello From Sunningdale UK
« on: June 05, 2017, 10:46:17 PM »
Hello fellow Ducatists
Now proud owner of a Red Multi 950 since Friday 2nd June. Love the ride and handling but struggling a bit with the seat height, I'm only a 29" inside leg. I purchased the lower seat but it is so wide, it does not seem to have made much difference, made a bit harder with Ducati panniers fitted. Are there any mods that can be carried out to give me a little less height, and before anyone says it, without buying platform boots? Purchased mine from Pro Twins at Godstone, great guys, very helpful.

Kind regards

Mark

Welcome!

I'm in the same boat, as I too have a 29" inseam.  I have searched, and the best I could come up with was a shorter rear shock, which I decided not to pursue.  You can look into lowering the front slightly.  Less preload on the rear will also slightly reduce ride height.  Both those changes will alter handling.  I mount the bike by stepping on the left foot peg so I can clear everything and not have to swing one leg to the sky like a ballet dancer.  I found removing the rubber insert from the peg made it a less slippery platform.

After 5,000 miles, I got used to it in the stock configuration.  Just have to get off the bike to back it up.  And always be aware of ground conditions when you come to a stop.

Hi Morty. Welcome to the forum. I ride through Sunningdale on my daily commute into London. I'll give you a wave if I see a red 950.  :158:

Hello mate. I have just joined the forum and considering buying a 950 but I am in exactly the same boat- short legs. I sat on a 950 with low seat but have been googling myself as research and found a company called Metisse  who do a suspension lowering link thing- for the 950- it's about 100 and if I go for one- I think I would have to get one of these as well. I have a Hyperstrada and had to get my boots built up by a cobbler for 30 but I agree with you, folk that reply with the platform gags and the "you will get used to it ' advice don't help much. Hope this helps. G.
