Ducati heated grips
« on: July 22, 2017, 07:30:10 PM »
Hi all,
I have just got a Multistrada 950, which is my first Ducati. I am loving the bike so far. Service is not so good...

I got Ducati heated grips installed by the dealer and they do not look good. Hopefully the attached picture shows the problem, which is a significant gap between the end of the grip and the end of the bar. I checked this with the Ducati dealer and they tell me this is the right part and it is fitted correctly, but the heated grips are shown as "no longer available" from Ducati.

This doesn't make sense to me, so can anyone else with the genuine Ducati heated grips post a picture, so I can compare with mine?

It has also taken 4 weeks to get the panniers ready to be fitted. Supposedly Ducati sent tumblers that are the wrong size and this has ended up with all the locks on the bike needing to be changed

Simon

I have never had heated grips before so didn't know what to expect. I appreciate the comment as I would like to get as many opinions as possible.

I would like to know if that is correct as I ordered heated grips with mine and the delivered bike without them, dealer saying they are on back order .

Hey Alberta, I just had the 1000k service done 2 weeks ago and asked when the heated grips would be available. I was told that they are not yet available for the 950. Is it possible they tried to fit the 1200 heated grips onto your bike? :187:

I thought the same thing Joe, especially as there are different part numbers for the 1200 and the 950 grips. Unfortunately the dealer claims to have checked the part number and verified they have the right grips. However, that was when they found the part they installed in now now longer available.

I think I am going to get stuck because they don't want to admit making a mistake, but agree the grips look awful. Hence I need some evidence that there are better looking Ducati grips out there.

if it turns out that they have fitted the wrong grips unto your new bike, I would be letting them know and would be either looking a full refund or else the proper grips fitted. I'm sure Ducati would have something to say if you have been told lies

Spoke to my Dealer yesterday and they told me the grips are due in end of November.
So I'm assuming there's a problem with the ones they have at moment.

November eh.... just in time for when it starts to get cold.

I'll carry on using my heated Gerbing gloves instead.... they are so much better than heated grips in my opinion.
