Found a play ground on the side of the highway to practice hanging the back wheel out.   Got a little dirty.   Couldn't get out to far today.  Some times you cant get what you want but you get what you need.

Pictures of the lovely Route 1290 North of Chiang Khong, Thailand. This was the middle of a week long ride with both my bikes, it was fun swapping out every gas stop. Almost 3000km this ride, 12,000km on the MTS now with the only problem I have had is the gas gauge but that fixed itself somehow after not working for a couple thousand kms, maybe the Gasohol gives it problems? I use the pure gasoline when it is available now but not all station in Thailand have it. I am happy with my Scott Oiler, comparing chains between the bikes really highlighted how clean and lubed it keeps the chain making it perfect for long trips like this. The MTS is a great touring machine and super comfortable to ride fully loaded but the Diavel is a blast too, so glad I can have both!

Well not exactly where I've been today but I have just got back from two week 3,000 mile trip to Norway on the new bike. Well worth going but do take good waterproofs. It rained hard for 5 days out of the last 7 and I would be lying if I said it wasn't miserable at time, especially on the autobahns which was verging on bl**dy dangerous at times. The weather, as in the UK, is a lottery. This time last year it was hot. The bike held up well apart from the brakes. Now getting to know the bikes little quirks. There is such a lot to see in the south of Norway ie below a line between Oslo and Bergen so don't think a trip to the North Cape is neccesary to see the place unless getting to the North Cape and back is your priority. Norway is expensive but I never paid more than 90 for a room at night and usually less. I recommend the ferry from Kiel to Oslo. It is more a cruise liner and it saves miles in Denmark and is a bed for the night. Now where shall I go next time??

I think you will find it's an appreciating asset - if I keep it for forty years.

Today we have had 4 days of heavy rain on an off.  This morning I was just aching to ride.  The fog was thick, the rain had backed off but every thing was wet and mist was lingering.
Visibility was nill.  I just needed to hear that engine and feel the pull.
Spent hour and half before heading to the office, cutting through the fog on some local mountain roads.
It was BLISS.
I love this bike.
2000 miles and the trans and clutch are softer.
But every now and then I stall the fecking thing.   :013:
Never stalled other bikes.
