Gear Position Inducator
« on: April 07, 2018, 06:27:17 AM »
Anyone know the location of this sensor?  I have looked through the parts diagram and can’t find it.

Mine has suddenly stopped displaying “N” even though the gearbox is in neutral.  All other gears display correctly.  I’ll ask to have this resolved at my 9K service, but would like to know where it lives.  A bit of an inconvenience, but not something that will leave me stranded.  No more running the bike on the side stand while I gear up, as the ecu shuts things down with the stand switch when the bike is in gear.

Hi angamico.

I had to get my dealer to change the gear sensor as I had a similar problem, although mine stopped displaying the gears completely.

I didn't see where the sensor is located however it must be easy to get to as my dealer had it changed by the time I'd had a coffee, so t must be easy and quick to change.
Sometimes you need a really crooked road to get your head straight

Is it the green neutral light or the N on the dash panel that's gone missing?
If I knew what I was doing I would probably stop doing it.

It is both.  Sensor cant detect neutral.
