Demo Bike
« on: April 16, 2018, 04:39:08 PM »
I joined my mate Tom on Saturday gone as he wanted to test ride the Multi 950 amongst some other bikes (bloomin' fabulous biking day!).

We went to WM Snells at Alton for the test ride and look what they brought out from their boys toys shed....

I have wheel envy! It looks awesome in the flesh.

The guys said its now a factory option (rather than dealer fit) to have the spoke wheels when you order a new 950.

Whats everyone's opinion on the spokes?

Only thing I wouldn't like is the fecking cleaning!

I like it. Suits the style of bike. Look even better if the bike was red.

They only have demo bikes in the best colour - e.g. white!   :150:

Exactly, the white ones demonstrate why the red ones are better.  :002:

If you're keen on off-road riding, spokes are the absolute best. Cast rims aren't as robust; prone to breaking.

Aesthetically, they look old-fashioned on such a modern-design bike. To my eye, they just don't jive. Functionally, they are just as good as cast rims on the pavement.

As to the colour: it's rather obvious where I stand, no?

Wire wheels are OK but do they attach to the side of the rim? It looks a bit odd  :110:
If I knew what I was doing I would probably stop doing it.
