Chain wear

Have done just under 9000 miles and my chain is giving problems.
When running the chain I can see it ‘jumping’ or ‘bumping’ on the upper run !
I’ve never seen a symptom like this before.
It causes the whole drive chain to judder and the bike periodically kicks on the centre stand.
The chain is noisy in all motion and in particular when going over the sprockets.
Anybody ever experienced anything like this and can advise?
I’ve had chains stretch beyond useable boundaries but never had anything like this !

I've had to adjust the chain twice now (10,000 miles) although it still seems good on the sprockets. Have you adjusted your yet?

I have seen a jumping chain like you describe but I can't remember which bike - so that's no help     Perhaps it's something to do with the uneven firing order

My chain was adjusted at the dealer’s when the master cylinder was replaced under warranty, a few weeks back. That was at about 6000 miles. We’re now up to 7000 miles and It runs nice and smoothly over the sprockets. I very occasionally clean all the crap off it with paraffin and give it a spray of Wurth Dry Lube every couple of hundred miles.

I was told at my service last week that they change the chain @ 9000 mile service, could this be an associated issue???

They didn't change mine at the service and I've never known of a chain being done at a service unless it was worn. Normally a chain and sprockets is done when it's needed - like tyres. Don't let them con you into getting a new one if it's not needed because it will be expensive

Sounds like they want to bend you over
