Devil's Bridge Rideout

Due to uncertainty as to whether Hartside Cafe has re-opened yet, we have planned a rideout to Devil's Bridge via the Yorkshire Dales National Park for Sunday 8th July . The meeting point is McDonalds, Rising Bride, Accrington at 09.15 for a prompt 09.30 departure. All the details are below and if you're on Facebook, please indicate through that medium if you're going and please provide the details requested. If you don't use Facebook, please reply to the email address provided in the details below so you can indicate your interest.

Devil's Bridge Rideout - Sunday July 8th - Route Details

Meet Rising Bridge services (junction of the A56 and A680), 09.15 for prompt 09.30 depart.

A56 to M65, turn right onto the M65 to Colne.

Through Colne on the A6068 toward Cotton Tree, left at the roundabout on to an unclassified road (ucr) to Skipton.

Through Skipton to the junction with the A59 and B6265.

Take the B6265 Rylstone Threshfield.

Left onto the B6160 Kettlewell - Buckden Newbiggin  to the A684.

Turn left to Hawes.

Through Hawes (one way system) onto a ucr to the Buttertubs Thwaite.

Left onto the B6270 Keld Nateby to the junction with the B6259.

Right onto the B6259 to Kirkby Stephen.

Left onto the A685, Newbiggin-on-lune, coffee stop at the garden centre on the left as you get to Newbiggin-on-lune.

A685 to Tebay, fuel stop if required, then onto Kendal (option for fuel).

Left onto A684 toward Sedbergh.

Cross the M6, right onto the B6257 to the junction with the A683.

Right to Kirkby Stephen and Devils Bridge.

The route length is approximately 120 miles and is expected to take about 5 hours including time for rest breaks, refuelling etc.

There are fuel stations on the route but please make sure you have enough fuel before setting off, if you will need to stop en-route please tell the lead rider.

At junctions please lookout for the rider following you, if you cant see anyone please park safely if possible, until the next rider comes along and indicates to turn, try to make sure theyre one of our group and hopefully we should be able to stay together but there will be short stops to allow for re-grouping.

This is open to anyone who would like to join us. Group members, observers, past members, associates and friends.

This run is being organised by a member of the Bury and Rochdale Advanced Motorists (BRAM) but this is not an official IAM or BRAM sanctioned event.

There will be no coaching or guidance given during this ride, this is a social event for people in the Bury and Rochdale area who would like to come along to meet and ride with like minded individuals.

In participating in this run you must accept that the IAM and BRAM their officers or members cannot be held responsible for any consequences. At all times you are responsible for your own safety and actions.

There's about 4 people definitely going but we often get quite a few turning up on the day or not advising us until a few days prior to the event.

Last year about 10 of us went up to Hartside and earleir this month we had 15 bikes for our Peak District rideout.

Sounds a great run. I've been to Devils bridge a couple of times and a great spot.
If I wasn't going away on holiday later that week I would have joined.
