Lowered footpegs
« on: August 27, 2018, 06:43:22 PM »
Has anyone fitted the SW Motech ION footrest lowering kit? Does 15 mm lower really make a difference? I am 6ft 2inches or 1.88M

Im also 62.  I purchased the taller comfort seat.  The dealer said it is over 1 higher than the standard seat, but it doesnt seem to be more than 1/2 taller.  I still feel that I could use a little more vertical distance between my butt and the pegs.  Im interested to hear from anybody that has lowered their pegs.

Swap the rubber inserts over from the rear to the front as they are marginally lower as a first step (sic).
Full of enthusiasm - in all the wrong places

I did that last year after reading it on here. It worked a treat. Just need a bit more foot lift to get from 5th to 6th but leg room feels perfect for me. I'm 6'2"

have given in and bought the footpegs SW Motech. Very good quality, bit fiddly to fit the the spring and pin back, I expect there maybe an easier way. I needed them because of knee op and wanted less bend on the knee. First impression ok, but need to do a longer run.

I took the rubber inserts out of mine the first day that I got it as I was afraid of loosing them. It suits me fine although I normally have an airhawk on and that also raises me about an half inch

I was riding in the rain one day and when I stopped I noticed one of my rubber inserts was missing. Took the other one out and have been riding that way ever since. Lowered them about 1/2 or 1 cm just by doing that and it feels fine without them so have not ordered a replacement yet. One of the very few things I haven't bought for the bike!
