Re: Lowered Suspension - Side stand

G'day,
I purchased a 950s with low seat (which is very comfortable) but at 5'7" was never confident when stopped or with pillion getting on or off. I also looked into lowering links but was advised against fitting them by two suspension specialists... saying that it only changes pre-load and will leave the rear to soft.
Shock Treatment (Sydney, Aust) said they could lower the bike "properly". They installed internal stops within the shock and fitted a shorter Eibach spring of same loading, essentially reducing the rear ride height by 25mm, then raised the forks by 25mm to match.
Skyhook suspension still works perfectly post mods and side and center stand have not needed to be modified.
Very happy, cost was A$850, drive in & drive out, 4 hrs later.
