Seriously considering upgrading my current 950 to a 950s  I would like to get some feed back from current owners ie was it worth the extra cost or do they regret  it :005: thanks.

I changed my 950 to 950s as I got a good deal from my dealer and I just luv all the new gadgets that should of been on the old 950.
Your never going to make money on your old bike but it doing the px at the right time that suits you.

Main plus points for me - my wife rides her own bikes and we do a lot of touring but sometimes she wants to jump on the back of mine so the electronic suspension is easy to adjust for different weight set ups at the touch of a button. The actual handling was very similar but slight improvement in ride quality. I have tweeked the manual set up on my bike  to give me more feed back. against the standard set up esp the front the S is probably 20% better. TFT screen ? nice but not essential. Cruise control is good for boring motorway stretches etc Quick shifter is good but I have always done a lot of clutchless shifts up and down anyway but with the qs you can be a bit ham fisted and get away with it.  Cornering abs a good thing if you ever need it you need it!!  For me its an evolution. The fact I am thinking of staying with the 950 shows me how much I love the bike...

I have never regretted buying a new bike but I have regretted NOT buying a few ...

The 950S is the bike I really wanted - but wasn't available - when I bought my 2018 as I was torn between the character of the 950 and the gadgets of the 1260S.

Be aware the S is more sporty than the old one because it feels planted and safer. If you're after more of an adventure bike I would recommend getting the standard bike and spend the money on the full Enduro pack instead.

Grahew, I did not upgrade, I took the 950s as the first new bike.
So I'm trying to put myself in your place and I am thinking that if you like gadgets and this kind of stuff it would be a nice upgrade for you. The electronic suspension was the first thing that convinced me to go with the S model. You have hydraulic clutch, cornering ABS and lights, TFT dash, cruise control and probably more, I am sure you already know this.

Think about if you will use all/or most of them and if they will make your life easier.  :305:

Another question I would ask myself is how much I would use the bike, it will worth the extra cost and if I would enjoy it to the maximum? Because if you will buy the S model and ride 3-5000 km per year...for me it will be a no buy. But this is how I think. If the money it's not a problem, don't ponder, buy it!

also check the thread "MS 950 S"  where there's lots of discussion on the benefits of the 2019 model and the S.

I took the plunge and upgraded from a late 2018 950 to a 2019 950S.  probably didn't make sense financially but I'm still happy with the decision.  The TFT screen whilst pretty adds very little extra value, things like cruise control are far more useful.

    good luck with the choice!
