    950s with Scorpion Rally Tyres

G'day all, anyone here running the Scorpion Rally tyres on their 950s? Are you doing much off road, and how does the bike perform? I was watching this vid
and was wondering if the 950s is a good alternative to the 1260 Enduro. Obviously has a range limitation with 10L less, and slightly less suspension travel, but overall how does it fare against the higher cc version in real world use?

Hi. I'm getting some Rally tyres put on my 2018 950 this week for a four day Ducati Adventure Ride in New Zealand in late November. Four days of gravel roads and farm tracks. Will let you know how it goes. Will be riding with 1200's and scramblers. Its going tp be epic!

That does sound good. I would be very interested to read how you get on with the tyres. My next year adventure is going to be more off-roady than this years high speed dash  :305:

    Pictures would be good  :152:
Anything more than two wheels is unnecessary.

    Hi
Looking forward to sharing the trip. If it goes well there will be another trip next year I gather so start saving! There are some loan bikes ( 950's and Desert Sled Scramblers) or BYO.

My work got in the way of getting my bike to the bike shop earlier this week and only dropped it in today to get the spoked wheels and Rally tyres put on - as well as the crash bars, sump guard and enduro foot pegs. I have already fitted the bark busters and radiator guard myself.

I'm not sure how I will cope with not having my bike to ride/gaze longingly at over the weekend....

I might need counselling by the end of it. https://www.multistrada950.com/Smileys/light/012.gif

Sounds serious and costly.  Your bike will have complete enduro set up.  How difficult or easy where the bark busters to put on?  Contemplating them.  Not a lot of room on the bars. My plastic guards survived one laydown barely.  One of the screws on the inside has a broken conection leaving a slight gap around the blinker.  Not noticeable.   I can also fix it with JB weld or epoxy.  Saving that for down time tinkering.  I have not priced the replacement for plastic guards they look easy to replace by parts.  Appears to be two pieces.  Which would make them kinda disposable in a break.   Posts pics of the bike when back.
A couseling thread for getting through MTS950 withdrawls 🤔😉😕😬😢😨😰😟😱😵

    Hi
Barkbusters weren't too hard to put on and you don't even notice them when they are on. Hopefully the blinkers will be protected in a fall.

Yes it is costing a small fortune to "Endurotise" the 950 but it will add some protection if the worst happens. The 950 will look cool with all the gear on. I'm not bothering with the extra lights on the front at this stage - just something else to get broken.

Will post picks when I get the bike back and have taken it down to the local river to wear the new tyres in.

Three parts make up one side hand guard.  In US $ the parts for one complete hand guard cost just under $200.00.   So the guards look like you may not break all three parts in a fall.  Chances are just the upper plastic breaks.
So does this make the bark busters worth the money?

    Hi
It cost me NZ $195 for the pair. That equates to about US $125. So US $200 for one unit sounds a bit steep.

Time will tell if they work. To check to make sure I fitted them properly I visited a guy who had his fitted by the Ducati shop and it seems right. The blinkers still look a bit vulnerable though. I don't know how much new indicators cost - and I'm not keen to find out haha!

    Cheers
    John
