Linked Brakes

Simple Question, Does the 950 from 2018 have the linked brakes? So when I go for the front brakes, it automatically increases the rear brake without any input from the rear brake pedal?
I am unsure if it was something they put onto later models only.

Also, if it does have linked brakes, does it cancel out the auto rear brake when you use the foot pedal manually?

"The front and rear brakes do not use separate control systems: the ABS on this bike provides for a combined braking action that connects the rear brake system to the front one when the rider uses only the front brake. The contrary is not true: the rear brake control will not affect the front brake. That is very interesting, having just found it in the manual (after more than two years of ownership!). I’ve never noticed any linked effect and I’ve had bikes that do have linked systems.  I will check later, but there doesn’t appear to be any physical connection between the front and rear brakes (maybe telepathy/witchcraft comes in to play). As for controlling the system from the dash, I will also look at later.

Have to say I've never noticed any feeling of the brakes being linked, so I imagine it is a very light touch on the rear if any. Will be looking forward to the results of your forensic investigations

Haha, forensic investigation  Anyway, the rear brake is a 2 pot calliper operated from the rear brake pedal. So, unless Ducati witchcraft has a part, the rear brake cannot be operated from the front brake. Please correct me if you know otherwise. As for searching through the dash menus, I’ve better things to do

Had a spin out on the Mutley this morning, before leaving I marked the back disc with 'engineers blue'

Did about 10 miles initially and used the front brake only, both soft and hard applications....checked the rear disc after 10 miles and the blue was still on the disc, so either there are no linked brakes or mine doesn't work...I suspect the former.....

I cannot understand why there is a paragraph in the owner’s manual mentioning linked brakes

The manual I referenced was definitely for the 950 and dated 2017 so before the 950S appeared. Nonetheless I'm beginning to think the manual is in error - I've also seen reviews that report the brakes are not linked. So be it  . . .
