Standard dipped lights lack lustre (understatement)

Strange one for a first post, but this is why I came on here.

The standard dipped beams on this bike are a big let down.

    I've seen threads dipping in here ('scuse pun);
    https://www.multistrada950.com/index.php/topic,288.0.html
    https://www.multistrada950.com/index.php/topic,687.0.html
    https://www.multistrada950.com/index.php/topic,125.0.html

However, from a 'complete' point of view, none of them actually get to the bottom line. Why are the standard dipped bulb beams so poor? and do the OSRAMs really boost illuminating performance, because A - no-one on the forum has showed and telt, and B - the links copied go to blank eBay websites offering nothing.

So truth time, who, with experience, has something of value to share?

By the way, Hi. I'm just quite a curious, cynical, skeptical individual. But I don't like my dipped beam, its less than safe, and I don't like being flashed at for being on high beam.

    All my best,

JolliGreenGiant. I cant help with any bulb improvements/upgrades advice, however I have the Ducati aux lights and they make a huge difference.

I ride with the aux lights on all the time (day and night) as they are also good for safety (eg help being seen).

In 3 years I have only had one cager who thought they were too bright and flashed me.

Perhaps aux lights are the solution for you  :084:

I'm sure the 950s dipped lights are a massive improvement considering they are LEDs, but that's an expensive upgrade to change the bike!!!

I can't agree more JollieGreenGiant! The lights as standard are shocking. Had to ride back in the dark a few times recently and country roads with potentially deer everywhere, i'm on edge. It has gone through my mind, is it possible to install HID's?  :086:
I always thought just changing the bulbs won't really make a difference, and it would be great to see the difference.
Otherwise, it is going to be the engine bars and Spot lights for me.  It's just the price to get them :087:

I’m sure that others on the forum have changed to LED at not too great a cost. There are some threads on the subject if you do a search.

2020 950s has headlight assembly from 1260 . works extremely well. pretty much like a car.
