Ducati Specific Oil

Since we had such great weather on Saturday, I thought it a good excuse to pop down to Blade Ducati to ask about the Oil they use. They use a a specific Ducati Oil from Shell.
https://www.shell.com/motorist/oils-lubricants/advance-for-motorcycles/advance-4-stroke-motorcycle-oil/shell-advance-ducati-15w50.html
Reason i was asking as i know it is not unheard for people to run through a little oil. I personally have not gone through any oil. I'm curious to know if anyone using this oil experiences any loss. Has anyone found a different when swapping lube?
Obviously there are those that believe oil is oil and it all comes from the same place. I work on basis that Shell do spend billions on developing Oil to make the difference. Call me a sucker for advertisements,
but there is a little logic behind it.
Be intrigued to know peoples thoughts on it.
So i thought it would be great to hear if anyone else has any experience on it.

I imagine its just a branding exercise and the oil is the same as . . . .

Rider's of Bristol sold me some 15-50 oil but it was neither Shell not Ducati specific. What they used when they recently serviced my bike I have no idea. They did mention the grade on the invoice which was correct but nothing about the brand.
As to consumption I've added about 300 ml in 6,000 miles so not a massive consumption imo.
