The Duct at the side of radiator?

Can anyone tell me what the duct is to the left hand side of the radiator (when looking from the front of the bike)? It has a little bit of sponge at the entrance. Assuming not air intake as it's too small. But then i'm not sure what else air would be sucked in for? Also, is there a way of getting to the sponge and cleaning it, as salt and crap could eventually work it's way in.

I think you are refering to the belts cover, yes? Probably you must unmount the cover în order to clean the sponge. This is just from my memory...

That's the part. Thanks. Based on that information I searched it and found the pictogram of it. Useful. I assume the air coming in is to cool any friction heat on the belts. Cheers.

Glad to help. So for cleaning it I assume that the belts cover must me take off.
Cheers!
