Hi all new to forum in the West Midlands UK
Currently have a z 900 rs cafe but it’s paining me
Considering a ms 950 standard and if don’t mind would like to ask a few questions
Does the standard handle well with out all the skyhook Farkle I can’t stretch to the s lol
How does it compare to the 1200 ( I must organise a test ride 😂😂)
I had numerous goes on a 12 and loved it but just over my head financially at the moment
And they reliable I’ve never owned Italian 😂
Think that’s all for the minute

Standard 950 handles exceptionally well and reliability is good (no problems after 3 years of ownership) - obviously you do hear a few niggles from owners but that is common with any bike. The early models with the cable clutch does need to be warmed up a couple of minutes before riding as it does snatch a bit but once warmed it's fine. If you can afford a new bike with hydraulic clutch then that would be better

For a comparison with the bigger Mutley try viewing this old Youtube clip - says it all really :

In my view it's a perfect all rounder, so much prettier than other Adventure style bikes and brings a smile to the face every time the garage door opens.  If I were to consider changing bikes  the only thing I would swop my 2017 bike for is a new 950S

Yes it does but once you ride one with skyhook you wouldn't want to go back.

The 950 is much more engaging and entertaining in my opinion.

And they reliable I’ve never owned Italian 😂
    Buy with confidence.

Yes I e ridden the 1200 and thought it was superb
But to expensive for me at the moment I’m in negative equity with my rs cafe
Any fees back on servicing is it 9000 mile intervals or like any bike 9000 or 12 months
Any one had the 18000 see I e belts etc how much is that

You'll find most of your questions answered on this forum somewhere but it may take a bit of digging  :001:
Service intervals are 9,000 miles or annually. The run-in and first service is about the same as most bikes. The 18,000 mile service is eyewateringly expensive; expect around £900. It includes the belts (which it probably doesn't need) and the valve shims (which it might). If you don't run to the full 9,000 miles per year, the annual service come into play but as that's basically an oil change and a look over, any competant home mechanic can do that.
I've found the bike as reliable as my previous BMW and the backup from the dealer/factory just as good as well. I wouldn't worry about that side of things any more than any other manufacturers bike.
I've ridden the 1200 a fair but and wouldn't pay the extra for one unless I was riding two-up a lot.    :305:

Anything more than two wheels is unnecessary.
