    Delkevic Exhaust Fitted

Well, I’ve finally done it and fitted a Delkevic Titanium exhaust, losing that ugly cat box in the process and shedding some 25 lb (11kg) of weight.

My mechanic had one hell of a headache fitting it due to the puny 6mm manifold studs Ducati use. We’re talking of the front cylinder with two of the studs snapping at the sight of a spanner; the third came out with the nut well and truly seized on it. One of the broken studs came out with a bit of persuasion but the other one didn’t want to go anywhere. Eventually, after some three hours of welding nuts and bolts to it, the bast*rd called it a day and came out.

Anyway, plain sailing after that and it’s now on and I’m so pleased with it. It’s maybe just a touch louder than the stock exhaust but with a lovely, deep rumble (this is with the baffle in). Aside from the massive weight loss the one noticeable difference is just how much smoother the bike is pootling  around town or in speed zones. It now holds 30 mph in third gear or 40mph in fourth without any snatching or jerking. All this without any remapping to the fuelling. Open her up to the other end of the rev range and she certainly howls....a glorious sound. She certainly feels quicker under acceleration and more flickable  through the twisties having been on a crash diet.

I’ve now got to get used to looking down and seeing empty space that was once filled by that corroded lump of cat box. I can’t say I miss it.

That was a nice mini review!
Is it possible for you to make a video for the sound?

That looks good. How does it affect the warranty and will it pass the MOT (with baffles in I suppose)?

Warranty! It’s over three years old. As for MOT and noise, there are no noise tests in the MOT. I’ve had much louder bikes pass with my tester.....he always said that it sounded fine on the day  :008:

Is removing the CAT illegal in Europe?

This looks great and 11kg is a fair weight saving!

I notice on the Delkevic website no exhausts come up if you select 2019, but a full range for 17-18. Are there any changes to the system between the years ?
