    Engine cuts out ?

Hi all, has anyone had any experience of their engine (950S) cut dead while accelerating on an overtake??  :005: :005: :005:
Happened to me today , engine died (luckily not me) , lots of flashing lights on the dash. Coasted to a halt and selected N and reset off/on and the bike started back up and ran but with an Amber Engine warning light up.
The bike ran ok home and is being picked up tomorrow by Glasgow Ducati to check diagnostics, watch this space, as they say...

Oh dear, that sounds pretty scary. Luckily nothing else happened, but not good!
Be very interested to hear what caused that. Certainly not even had a slight hesitation out of my 950s.

I did a search in https://www.ducatiforum.co.uk/ and there are several folk who have experienced similar on various Multi's ,
been a few issues with sidestand switches / Stop button switches on the RHS cluster.
A few have had engine stops while running and no warning lights registered and no faults logged.  Hopefully with my 950S ( 3800 mls) they will see whatever the warning is showing in the log..
Anyway was picked up this morning at 08:30 and should be with Glasgow Ducati by now, will post whatever they fine..

Ducati Glasgow called, there was a fault logged, even though the warning light had disappeared. It appears the there might be an issue with the throttle bodies / stepper motor???
The ecu had logged a throttle demand of 85% ( going for an overtake) but the throttle bodies only opened 9%  :005: :005:.
So all this info has been passed to Ducati and the dealer is awaiting instruction on the way forward. (still in warranty)..

They do look after you at Ducati Glasgow. A couple of silly things went wrong on my bike and jumped straight to fix it in no time at all.
Impressed they are now doing Saturday and could get your bike in, so things just be relaxing more.
Thought it would be something sensor related, I would say it's daft but then it's all the electronics that make that bike so nice and special to me.

Sometimes its not great to be the "special one" with the unique fault that nobody has ever come across.........wow, hope you get that properly resolved

Had a word with Brian at G.D. today, they are going to replace the throttle assembly and the ECU  :003: :003:
Hope they are all that's required to sort it, not too happy as no real explanation as to what or why it happened...
