    Newbie Intro

    Hi, just joined.

A couple of weeks back, I had a ride out with a friend who had recently bought a 950S.  He was absolutely loving it and didn't stop raving about it.  So much so that I booked myself a test ride on one with my (not so) local Ducati dealer.  It was love at first ride.  I loved the Skyhook which just turned the bike into a feather bed while still nailing every rutted corner, loved the comfy seat, the dash, the QS and most of all, I loved that 937 Testastretta motor.  After sleeping on the decision, I phoned the dealer and put a deposit on a grey one.  It got better.  He phoned me back a week later to tell me that Ducati have discontinued the grey and are switching to the GP White.  I was less than thrilled to hear this - until he emailed me a pic of the new colour scheme.  Ooooohh!

So now I'm waiting to see how fast they can get one to me through the lockdowns in Italy and UK.  Can't wait!

Nice one. Welcome. That's a pretty familiar story so you're in good company.

Out of interest, what have you traded up from?

:400: the colour is a bit odd, as they stopped doing the white for the grey......now they stopped the hey & going back to white  :112:

Hi IakWhisky, it's a longish story.  I did buy a Supersport S in 2017 when that model was brand new.  It was a lovely bike to ride (same 937 engine plus lovely Ohlins sus) but less lovely to own.  I had numerous issues with it and it became obvious it was a lemon.  Despite all the problems (too tedious to go into here), I have to say that both my dealer (Snells in Alton) and Ducati dealt with the issues well and agreed to warranty repairs/replacements in every instance without any argument.  There were simply too many of them and I lost confidence in the bike.  So after just 15 months, I chopped it for a new 2018 Honda CB1000R (>16k miles and zero issues) - a bike I still love and may not sell.  I'm now hoping that, with the VW/Audi/Lambo connection more firmly established, I can relax and start trusting in Ducati reliability.  That Ducati feel able to offer 4 years warranty/roadside assist on all new Mutleys has also given me reassurance on that front.

BabyD, suggest you take a look at the Ducati website for the new White GP colour scheme.  All I'll say is, it's white Jim, but not as we know it.  Personally, I think it's stunning and I can't wait to get my mitts on it.

I just looked on the configuration for multi 950s........there is red, grey or the the white with stickers on it, I must be missing something as the only difference I see to the white they used to do is stickers  :027:

Fingers crossed you wont have to wait too long until you get your new Mutley.

Remember to share photos when it finally arrives.

Has the dealer suggested any dates yet on when it will be available?

Sometimes you need a really crooked road to get your head straight

Hi guys - thanks for the welcome.  I've been told my bike has left the factory and delivery should be about 2 weeks, so hopefully early August.

I thinks it's supposed to be real paint - y'know, just like on the 1260S (or the 1260 Enduro or the Pike's Peak or the Hypermotard or the Panigale V2 Final Edition, to name but a few)?  Can't imagine the dark grey lower fairing would be anything else but we'll see.  Maybe BabyD really does know more than the rest of us?  One thing's for sure - if it is just stickers, I'll be having words.
