    Hi
Im an aged rider (over 60) awaiting the arrival of my first Ducati (Multistrada 950s)  thought I would introduce myself and see what learned teaching s the group have to get me up to speed.
My big question,  the bike that is coming has the touring pack on it (new to me but a 2019 machine in grey).  What will I need to do should I wish to add a topcase? Just a bracket  or a whole collection of support sdtruts etc. I fancy a Shad but would appreciate any suggestions and instruction..
    Thanks

:400: It all depends on you really, how you want it to look..... the genuine top box is only available new as a complete package for around £700, but you can buy the fitting kit part by part which is about £250

Or buy a 3rd party setup for a lot less but it won’t match the side panniers as well as the genuine one......

So like I say it’s down to you how you want it to look 👍

Thank you Baby D , sounds a lot for a top box (even to a retiring BMW rider) I fI was to go down the Givi or Shad etc. route, is the fitting of it just a plate on the rear rack or does it get more complicated withthe panniers being already fitted. Do I use the pannier rails as a strengthener or do i put more metal at the back etc... a little confused at the moment. It might get easier once I have the bike physically here.

Regardless of which box you buy, I would advise getting the genuine rack & getting a adaptor plate for the box you want ( which is easier said than done )

The support bars transfer the weight onto the frame, where others just use the plastic rear grab handle.

Hi. I have a Shad rack and box on mine. It uses quite neat support bars that fit exactly where the Ducati ones fit, into the frame.

Re: Shad rack, for anyone interested I was tidying the garage at the weekend (needed space for another bike   :087: !!) and found the Shad fitting instructions:
