    New (to me) bike day!

I picked up my new (2018) Multi today after a very long 3 week wait. The ride home was just over an hour and, although it was 11 degrees, there was a very cold wind blowing so it felt a lot colder. First impressions after that short ride. Let me first say this before I rattle off some negative stuff, I love the bike and I think itís going to be with me for a while.

I now know why there are so many threads about the screen and the seat, very noisy and very hard! Iím not sure if the heated grips were working or not but I couldnít feel any heat from them and I forgot to check when I got home and took my gloves off. Iíll check them out tomorrow. And now the worst bit. Iíve owned 4 Ducatiís (3 Monsters and a Scrambler) in the past 15 years and I can say without a moments hesitation that the Multi has the worst clutch and gearbox of any of them. In fact, itís got the worst clutch and gearbox of any bike Iíve owned, and Iíve been riding for 55 years. Despite that I still love the bike and I know I will get used to it very quickly.

I also bought myself a new Schuberth C4 pro carbon to match my new bike and Iím loving that too.

I agree the clutch isn't great on the 950, but you do slowly get used to it. It does need warming up, it's a bit grabby from cold.

The clutch on the 959S is a huge improvement and lovely to use, as is the gearbox
Sometimes you need a really crooked road to get your head straight

I took the bike out for another ride today and, WOW, what a bike. I have got used to the clutch and gearbox already and only stalled it once and that was the first junction. There were no false naturals due to clutch less changes up from 3rd to 4th to 5th to 6th and positive changes down.

And the heated grips were working, very well, I had to turn them down to medium! I think when the dealer showed me how to activate them he didnít press the indicator button to confirm the choice. Anyhow, they are good and I think they should be standard equipment on all bikes.

One other thing I discovered today, this bike can really move when you open it up. I am going to have lots of fun with this bike.

Welcome to the club Paulel - enjoy the ride!

The clutch and the gearbox get much smoother after a few thousand kilometres.

    Be safe!
