    Gearbox position sensor

Hi all. 2017 950 owner here. Had my gearbox position sensor go bad on me. Bike shows 1st when in neutral etc however once it’s well warmed up the problem seems to disappear leading me to believe that the sensor is fully functional. I’ve taken it out and when depressing the little pressure sensor all gears 1-N-2-3-4-5-6 show up on the dash in the correct order.

Screw it back in however and it either shows 2nd or 1st when actually in neutral. I’m guessing I need to do the gear learning procedure but would have to go to the stealership for that. Anyone got any other ideas? Just puzzles me how it can work perfectly when the bike’s warm. Cheers

Yeah I’ve seen that and tried to do it but I think you need the diagnostics tool for that no? Thanks anyway though

Interestingly I thought I had the same problem with that sensor last year . It occurred just after a dealer annual service on which I asked them to tighten up the clutch cable at the secondary adjuster. I did not have time to take it back in as I was going on a tour during which the problem rectified itself and has never recurred
