MTS 950 2019> parts and 2017-2018 compatibility question

Hi, so I did some digging and found out that some parts of the later models of the 950 are already different from the 2017-2018 one (obviously). One part in particular is the gear position sensor. As most of us all know, the gear indicator has been an issue for most owners and I wanted to make sure I won't have to deal with a faulty indicator again since the old part seems to be discontinued already. Having said this, would anyone know if the Gearbox Position sensor of the 2019> models fit a 2017-2018 model? Is there a way to retrofit this?

On the topic of expanding tanks, can anyone also confirm that the FUEL tank (58612291A  part number) of 2019> models fit a 2017 one?

I love Ducati bikes and all but I really wish Ducati reps would start to look at owner forums so they get their sh*t together and ensure reliability of their electronics.  :008:

What  I can tell is that ducati part numbers are confusing as f**k

I bought mine slightly crashed and it was a a journey to find correct parts. Some part numbers are incorrect, others change just a letter.. I had to really investigate them and compare visually to find right parts.

950 side fairings are the same as 1260 but different Pn, tank fairing Pn on catalog is from a side fairing etc etc.

Take your time and do your research

That is true. I was hoping that the updated gear indicator sensor of the later model could be retrofitted to the 1st gen MTS 950. The older part seems to be discontinued already.  :087:

As for the fuel tank, I am also hoping that the later versions have addressed the expanding issue so I'm thinking of replacing mine down the line with the newer 'version'. No wonder Japs are better at this than the Italians haha still love Ducatis though. Their electronics just suck (at least compared to the big four).
