    EvoTech hand guards for 950

    I thought I’d drop my bike in the garage the other day (:-( ) and succeeded in breaking the RH hand guard. A quick whatsapp to Winchester Ducati and new one was dispatched to me very efficiently in a matter of days. I also thought it would be good to get a pair of EvoTech Hand guards in case this happens again.

    Has anyone had experience with installing the EvoTech’s? I am having issues with fitting the barend  that EvoTech sent and it looks like the copper coloured inner tube inside the throttle grip is meant to come out...? Any help/advise is much welcome 🙂

    Hi Bauer,

    I fitted a 'knock off' version of the Evotech hand guard, which is pretty much the same.

    I did find it a bit challenging fitting them and engaging the bolt, (the bolt was turning but not tightening up). I then worked out if you tip the handlebars so they are pointing downwards, this helps engage the bolt. It's then really easy to tighten the bolt up.

    Hope this tip helps. Good luck.

    Sometimes you need a really crooked road to get your head straight

    @Bauer

    Yes the copper colors inners are meant to come out, they are in two parts, flat on the ends & tapered on the inner edge, as you tighten the bolt they compress together against the inside of the bars to create the tension, if they do release it’s normally just a case of brute force to free them apart then they will just slide out.

    Thx both - much appreciated and will give it another ‘crack’!! Good to know that the inner metal tube is meant to come out whether it wants to or not!

    Id go barkbusters they bolt to the handle bar and they are heaps cheaper.

    What i didn't like about the evotech is that it bolts to the mirror, my concern is if you drop the bike it could bust the mirror mount and be even more costly.

    The bark buster is not as nice but from experience works a treat
