MRA screen and Evotech Performance GPS mount

Just thought I'd post a couple of pictures in case anyone is interested...

The MRA screen has fixed the small issue with turbulent air I was feeling on the top of my helmet. The Evotech Performance (EP) GPS mount puts the GPS in a great place but I must admit the GPS does wobble a bit. Generally though, I'm happy with it.

Very nice pics Bear. I'm thinking of getting the MRA screen too or the shorter Puig one. I take it yours is the the smoked grey? Really suits the bike.    I'm hoping it will make a difference compared to the stock screen.

Yeah, this is the smoked/grey screen. I've had MRA vario screens on several bikes now and I have always found them to help with smoothing out turbulent air. The attached spoiler means the adjustment is easy and there's normally a good compromise to be found between airflow and noise.

Looks good - is the MRA screen any wider than the standard screen?

Well, it's a slightly different shape but barely any wider. Perhaps a couple of cm's wider across the upper part. Without the spoiler it's actually also a little shorter than the standard screen.

The wind noise is reduced (and in my case the buffeting has gone) but there is still wind noise around the sides of the screen. Problem is, the width is really constrained by the room needed for hand guards etc when the bars are turned to full lock.

How solid is the GPS Mount. I have the Givi mount ... a cross bar that is mounted to the two upper windshield bolts. In moderately rough road the GPS will bounce.

    Thanks in advance.

Sadly, it sounds about the same. The mount itself is quite solid (it is connected to the windscreen frame/adjustment mechanism) but with the weight of the GPS unit, it is prone to bouncing around when the road is less than perfect.

I would prefer something more solid but as I use a tank bag, handlebar mounts are not a great option.

I'll live with this for a bit, to see how I get on with it.

Same - just got a (first) MS with the mount already fitted - quite a vibration - though not a deal breaker - but not brilliant. In comparison the GS bracket is complete solid with no movement.

Just got my new 950s and the wind noise is the only issue with the stock screen. Iím 6ft 3Ē and wear ear plugs which helps but still annoying , any good advice welcome . Iíve just bought the Quadlock and mounted the iPhone on the handlebars which is fine but I canít use the Ducati tank bag as it fouls the phone again any advice welcome

I meant to update this thread. The EP GPS mount has been returned. I explained to them that the level of vibration was not acceptable to me. They were very good about it and accepted the return even though I'd obviously used the product etc.

I've now ordered a GPS mount for the bars (SW-Motech universal), just waiting for it to arrive. Hopefully, I'll be able to mount that in such a way that I can still use the tank bag.

As for the MRA vario screen, it definitely stopped the helmet buffeting I was getting with the standard screen, but I can't say it reduced the wind noise. In fact, since then I've tried the stock screen in a slightly lower position, which is slightly counter-intuitive, and that may be my preferred solution. As always, it's a compromise between wind noise, buffeting and visibility.
