    evening all ,
this is my first 950 but not my first multi and i love it -prob best bike I've had in 10 years!
have been vexing for past week on tyre change  have the standard  pirelli trail  2 although great in the dry i do feel they lack the confidence inspiring  grip i felt on the mithelin  pilot road  i had in my old 1200 multi
anyway the  road6 has just dropped into the fitters and im going to give them a whack
have a couple of decent tours to  northern Scotland and germany this year so will let you know how i fair
anyone  else had them fitted or who swears by the  michelins  your comments  on handling with the 950    would be  appreciated

These tyres were launched this month, I believe, so you will probably the first reviewer for them - good on us  :002:

The Road series from Michelin has been a hugely successful line of tyres, perfect for touring where one comes across the entire spectrum of road conditions. Looking forward to your experience!

I bought my 950S just three months ago so am still on the Scorpion Trail 2’s. I find them very confidence inspiring, amazing grip even when the tyres are cold. Superb edge grip, good feel through the seat and bars. Very strong in the wet. I think they aren’t overly fond of road markings but most tyres aren’t anyway. Love them, love my Ducati.

I had the Michelin Road 6 fitted to my 950s yesterday £312 ride in ride out. I put just 50 miles on them coming home so cannot give any real opinion just yet.
I came home along some twisty roads but took it easy of course, new tyres and not so good conditions. What I did notice was these tyres felt very stable nothing seemed to phase them, I think I'm going to like them!
The fitter set them at 36/42psi, the book says 35/36 for the Scorpion Trail 2's so not sure what i should set them at. I'll leave the front but try reducing the rear tyre pressure starting at 40 maybe and see what feels good.

If you have these tyres would be good to compare notes.

36 42 is a classic manufacture (not ducati) psi standard (most of the rider will change it to 33 36)  for most sport touring motorcycle , yet you should stick to manufacture suggestion  and change to 35 ,36 and see how that is working for you

The fact that brand new tyres didn't cause you to have an opinion either way meant they were doing their job very well. It also means that if after 50 miles on them you can't tell if they need adjusting, then the probably don't need adjusting. They have different pressures from the Trails because they are designed to do different jobs. The Road 6 are not designed to go off road at all so they don't need to be as soft.  I would leave well enough alone unless you have a really good reason to change them.

ducati tyre pressure recommendation is usually lower than other manufacture regardless to bike type , for example the monster 821 and panigala are 36 front and rear, if you dont ride hard you would not feel a lot of difference and has he said since it was his first 50km he did not stress them.

Ducati tyre recommendations are for the OEM tyre which in the OPs case were Scorpion Trails designed for 90/10 on/off road use. He isn't using those tyres anymore, so why would he want to use the pressures recommended for them and not the pressures recommended for the tyres he is using?

, basically the correct tyre pressure for you depends on a lot of variables , and our debate is where is a good place to start from i am sticking with to start with manufacture recommendation and move from there.

So how did your big trip work out? Do you still like the tyres? Would you buy another set?
