    Tank Bag

Looking for a suitable tank bag to supplement the 2 panniers I have for a long European trip this summer. Nothing too large just to carry a few items for easy access.  Any recommendations?

I use a SW-Motech Daypack Pro on my bike. It's definitely not huge but it's big enough for bits and pieces and also has an expansion from 5 to 8 litres. The only issue is that it's not 100% waterproof unless you use the supplied cover.

Also, I find it doesn't work well with my GPS, which is mounted on the bars - but I guess this applies to any tank bag.

Love my SW-MOTECH EVO Engage tank bag. Most used kit on bike.

Fitted the Givi tank ring today.
My 15litre Givi (xs307??) completely obscures the ignition key and fouls the rotated bars. It won't be getting used on the V2 that's for sure.

Decided to go for the SW-MOTECH PRO Micro Tank Bag which was all I needed in size.  Looks like a quality bag.  Haven't fitted yet as the Tank Ring I ordered is the wrong one (seems to have 2 which they claim fits Ducati's)  :003:

SidG has a pro tank ring for sale on the sales section for £15 - would echo the SW Motech route - bought the Engage Pro recently and used on trip to Spain / France - compact - really useful space - and the system works really well compared to unclipping straps etc

An update on my Tank bag trials and tribulations.
As per earlier post i fitted a Givi tank ring (on the tank) to use a previously purchased Givi XS307 15litre bag but abandoned that idea due to poor/nil access to the ignition key and sat nav colliding with the tank bag.

I subsequently fitted a tank ring to my tail rack and have used the XS307 on there. Also bought a second hand Givi XS317 (tiny)5litre tank bag ---- to use on the tank if the tail rack was loaded with a roll bag.

OK , so much for the history. I recently moved the sat nav to an Evotech screen mount and decided to have another look at using the XS307 on the tank.

The XS307 has several positions where the tanklock device can be mounted but none of them kept the bag far enough "back" that it did not overhang the ignition key.
Obviously moving the bag "back" means it is nearer the rider and looks less than integral to the tank.

However - by purchasing a, 200mm square, piece of 2mm aluminium i was able to create a subplate for the tank bag ---- and more mounting options.
Meant making a couple of 3mm holes in the bag but job done.
Tank bag clear of ignition by the minimum to give access and XS307 useable.
    pics to follow.
