    Passenger seat lock broken

I just bought a set of OEM panniers for my 2020 Multi 950S and when I went to go under the seat to grab the extra lock cylinders that came with the bike, I noticed the lock to remove the seat is broken. It just spins and spins. Maybe the cable mechanism came loose from the lock? Does anyone know an alternate way I can get in there and either fix the mechanism or pop the passenger seat off? My inquiries to the local dealerships are going unanswered.

i know it’s a bit of a long shot but have you tried unbolting the riders seat & trying to wiggle that free & them you may be able to release the catch for the pillion seat manually

For what it’s worth I managed to get in. If you stick a long flathead screwdriver between the passenger seat and the rider seat, and kind of drag it from right to left, you’ll catch the latch mechanism and the seat will pop off. The dealer wanted to charge nearly $200 an hour to look at it…

I can see down to the lock and the cable did indeed just pop out of its spot. I’ll need to figure out the best way to get down in there and re-seat the cable.

Glad to hear you got the seat off and hopefully have now figured out how to reunite the linkage.
