    DeCat installation and Inspection

    Hi everyone

Quick question about Leo Vince DeCat pipe. If the pipe is installed (it is listed is not Homologated) what happens in vehicle inspections, specifically in Germany? Does the vehicle fail inspection with the pipe ? Do I need to install the original cat pipe for the inspection, then remove it afterwards?

    Response will be appreciated.

    Thanks

It has not been through homologation. That doesn't mean it would fail the test, it just means that if it does fail the test, it is your problem not theirs.

What is the general wisdom on fitting a mid pipe, does that require remapping? I have a Termignoni slip-on can and am considering the Leo Vince mid pipe to go with it. The local Ducati dealership says that a remap is a must as otherwise the engine runs on a lean AFR while it needs a richer AFR to deal with the free flow exhaust setup.

    Any thoughts?

My previous Multi 1000DS, did not need any remapping. From what I've read, this does not need any remapping at all, but some advise to do so, the advantages are loosing weight, better looks, better sound, and simply why not?

The bike will run perfectly well without a remap. It will run better still with one. Your money, your bike, your choice.

Thank you for responding, gentlemen. I haven’t been able to track down anyone offering a flash for our bike. The only option seems to be to go for a fuel controller, like Rapid Bike.
