    Hyperstrada to Multistrada?

    Hello
New member here who is seriously considering changing from my 2013 Hyperstrada to a 950 MS. Has anyone done likewise? I am happy with the Hyper but having looked at the MS last week, I like it. The only thing putting me off has been that my mate has a MS1200 and has had horrendous issues with faults and problems with skyhook suspension, electronics etc. I know the 950 doesn't have that but it would be good to get an idea of reliability before I take the plunge and buy.
Any info welcome and hello to all from a newbie in Scotland.

i suppose that the 950 is just out on the market so it would be hard to say what faults may be in them. I had read on another form about some guy had his 950 up for sale and others were wondering why he was selling it so soon.

This is the question asked    Just noticed a 950 multi for sale at Cuba moto already. Somebody didn't like it very much!!

Answer  I got told that a guy had just clocked up 10K mileage on a trip around europe & that he'd supposedly had a open offer of 10K for it just over a month after buying it. We firmly laughed & carried on our business.

    Darsey,
I think you will find that the person you are talking about is Guzzigezzer who has been around Europe and Morocco,
He is a member on this forum but he has now sold the 950 and brought a 1200 enduro which he thinks will suit his needs better.

i actually thought that it was a wind up but if that it true is certainly encouraging to hear that the multi 950 is a very reliable bike. I have had two hypermotard 1100 and one 796 monster and without flaw in the past

Their is some pictures of his tour on this forum somewhere, it is worth a look he got my respect on a New bike and on his own. Look in Touring 2017 on the forum.

I know your post is old and you have made the change - congrats! My first Duc was also a Hyperstrada - loved it but when I first rode a Multi 1200 I was surprised at how much easier it was to ride - so much bigger, so much heavier and yet it it is so easy to tip into a turn it made me a better rider. Do you find the same experience?

    Hello
Certainly finding it easy to get on with, it's a bit like when I went from a KTM duke to a BMW Dakar a number of years ago in that it is a heavier bike but doesn't seem so when riding. I really like it so far. I liked the hyper but the multi is a bit more refined.
