    Hi from East Yorks  :158:

I haven't taken the plunge yet but have had a test ride. I have a couple of reservations at the moment, so am sat of the fence  :084:. I currently own a Triumph Tiger 800 which I have had for 3 and a half years and is my do everything bike. I am lucky enough to have 2 other bikes both Ducatis. When I saw the 950 at the Milan show, I thought at last! the bike for me.
I have also tested a 1200 pre DVT and was impressed with the power but not the low speed handling with the 17 inch front wheel.

So you are asking "why have you joined then?" I am looking forwards to reading about your adventures ideas and tech mods. You never know I may dip my toe in the water.  :002:

    Chris

Hi Chris. What are your couple of reservations?

I changed from a Tiger 800Xrx (after 2 years) to the MTS 950 and have no regrets whatsoever. Chalk and cheese in my opinion.
Sometimes you need a really crooked road to get your head straight

Just done 2500 miles on a European trip from 130mph autobahns  to rough single track roads the bike never missed a beat handles a treat.

if you look at how the ducati is put together compared with the tiger in my opinion.... no competition

Hi Murf.  How did your backside cope with the seat or have you got the gel seat or something else.
I did 2300 miles and apart from issues with the seat the bike was amazing.

I didn't like the amount of fork dive in town. I nearly ran into the back of a car when I first got on it. My Triumph feels like a sports bike in comparison. Being a Ducati, I was expecting stiffer suspension. Also I didn't feel as though it was as well put together.

Having said that, once out of town I really enjoyed the test ride and got to ride some nice twisties on the North Yorks moors. Perhaps I need another test and play with the suspension.
