    Center stand tips?

Has anyone tried installing a OEM center stand on this bike by theirself? If so, I could really use some tips. Without a bike lift and another set of hands I'm about to give up and take it to the dealer.

sorry moto45 I cannot help as mine is just the standard bike and I use the stand that I had for the Hypermotard which is a one sided stand. Not much use if you are 500miles from home though.

Thanks anyway for responding Darsey. Good news is I found the solution, (what would we do without YouTube). Brake spring pliers $14 ebay.  Just bolt up the stand and use the pliers to install the spring. Easy Peasy.

Thanks for posting that Moto45. $100 (based on $100 per hour)  for installation of centre stand at dealer here in Canada.

You're welcome Don, be sure to grease the mounting bracket holes for smooth operation. Chain maintenance will never be easier!

Can anyone help with what are the brake spring pliers referred to? I've just ordered a centre stand and aim to install it myself, if you can post a link to what I need that would be great.

I have since discovered that a long flat head screwdriver works best but it must have grooved teeth in order to bite on the spring holder without slipping off. Be sure to wear safety glasses to protect your eyes. Hope this helps.

Thanks for the replies - really helpful, I've ordered one from Amazon, should arrive before the stand does. I will post a couple of pics when I install.
