    Which luggage mounting system?

I'm considering the OS-32 soft panniers from Kriega but I need to get the luggage mounting system separately, what do you guys use/recommend?

I was leaning towards the SW-Motech Evo Carrier (http://shop.sw-motech.com/en/4052572042243,i1.htm) but there's some info that I can't decipher on the product page and the comm with the local distributor isn't great. They say "To use singly or in combination with SW-MOTECH ALU-RACK" which is their top case plate adapter but then below "Attention: Fits not in combination with OEM Ducati Topcase carrier.".
So I wonder if I will need the extra 200€ ALU RACK top case adapter plate just to be able to put a top case from say Givi later on (I know I need an adapter from Givi, but was hoping that would be the only one as it costs about 50€). Any thoughts?

I think they are trying to clarify that the side racks do not include the ability to mount a top case.  It should not require you to use their top rack+adapter plate unless you ALSO want to incorporate their Evo system for a top case.  Take a look at the mounting instructions for the side racks and you will see that it does not involve the existing grab rail.  You can find a copy at this US supplier site here:  Twisted Throttle.

I have only the ALU top rack on my MTS and can tell you it would not interfere with mounting points of their side racks.  It mounts soley to the existing grab rail.  So you should be able to go with an alternate mounting solution if you decide to add a Givi top rack in the future.  I put up detailed pics of the ALU top rack and Evo quick release Givi plate in a post here.  If you were to install the OEM Ducati top case rack, it includes support tubes which use some of the same mounting points used by the SW-Motech side racks.  I believe that is the point of their clarification, you would not be able to add the OEM top rack with these side racks installed.

I had the SW-Motech side cases on my Triumph and found them to be great quality.

Great idea to look at the mounting manual. You're right, it doesn't interfere at all with the original grab rail so it should be fine. I'm not planning on getting the OEM top case rack so there should be no issues with that.

    Thanks a lot!

I ordered today the Evo Carrier. It was in stock so it should arrive this week.
