So what are you moving up from ?

I'm guessing that quite a few people will be "upscaling" to the 950 from something smaller or of similar size. Thought it would be interesting to know what you ride now or what you are trading in ?

I've currently got a 5 year Kawasaki Versys 650 which I hope to trade in. I actually love the bike but it's starting to show small signs of age and I just feel that nows the time to something bigger.

I'm considering trading in a 2015 Triumph Tiger 800 XRx. But I'm also interested and considering the new Triumph Tiger Sport. All depends on road tests and finances on both bikes.

Thats funny I test rode a Tiger 800 last year as a potential replacement for the Versys. I quite liked it but felt that I didn't quite gel with it somehow. It was a rubbish day though which might have had something to do with it. Also sat on the "X" version (or whatever it's called) but found the seat really high.

Hi Griff.  That is spooky. The Tiger 800 is a great bike, and I still really like it, but just fancy a change after 2 years.

Hope to trade in my Yamaha XSR900, which has almost identical BNP but zero engine breaking. Hoping the Multi will be less frantic and more suitable for long distances and the odd bit of touring. Interested to know what top speed we can expect - same as Hyperstrada?

I'm currently riding a 2015 Kawi Versys 650.  I'm considering moving up to the Multistrada for all the obvious reasons - more power, slipper clutch, suspension, ride modes - but the Versys only has 12,000 miles on it (20,000 km), so I kind of think I should keep it for another year or two.  We'll see.  Both of my local dealers have demo 950s now, so I hope to ride one soon.

Jim - I think you'll be smitten once you've had a test ride and you could be getting rid of your Kawi sooner than you think! BTW I had just over 10K miles on my 2 year old Tiger that I part exchanged for the Multi.

I'm moving down displacement wise, from a CB1300S. It's been an excellent bike for me. Super reliable and fun to ride. But I also have an XSR900 in the stable, and that has shown me that mid-size displacement and power to weight ratio is where it's at - for me now. The only tech improvement I really want is ABS, the rest I can leave, but in today's market you get all the bells and whistles you don't need regardless. Haven't test ridden yet. My shortlist is the 950, Yamaha Tracer and Tiger Sport 1050. Quite different bikes for sure and good in their own ways.

I'm trading my Versys 650 - only a year old but after a test ride on the MTS 950 and with a partner on an MTS 1200s it was too hard to resist

What impressed you the most on your test ride?
