LED High beam, blue dash light blinks

I had the high beam lamps changed to LED as I was not happy with the standard. Now when riding on high beam the blue on the dash  blinks consistently.
The sparkie that installed them and the Ducati service manager suggested that the lamps don't have enough resistance and are triggering a warning that a bulb
is blown. Neither think it will cause damage.

    What you guys think?

Modern bike systems are capable of detecting a blown bulb. I've not had one blow on a Ducati but my BMW used to flash up "Light out" or something. So if Ducatis system is a flashing blue light then it makes sense.

Detecting the current drawn by the lamp is an easy way to tell if the lamp is working, An LED lamp will certainly draw less than a halogen lamp, so if the current drawn drops below the threshold for blown lamp detection then it does make sense. Easy way to tell would be to put the old lamp back in again and see if the flashing blue stops.

It shouldn't cause any damage because you're drawing less current. However I'm not a Ducati mechanic!  :084:
Anything more than two wheels is unnecessary.

I would be careful putting LED bulbs into anything after the problems my Dad had with his car.

He thought putting in New LED indicators would look great. All he got was a load of smoke from the engine and ECU management light on the dash. The car went into a shut down mode according to the RAC mechanic. They changed the bulbs and all was well again.

All you need to do is to install white light halogen bulbs not LED.

I think the Forum has covered this territory in a previous topic but the Osram H11 "Nightbreaker" would seem to be the sensible replacement bulb which gives more/brighter light without any of the issues that LED's seem to be giving

I tried the Osram night racers but I didn't find that they made a big difference, apart from being a bit whiter.

    I installed these cyclops leds

on my high beams and don't have any issue, and they seem much much brighter.
