    New tyres

I have been doing some homework on the best tyres to buy for the 950 and I am going to put on Metzeler Roadtec 01. They are getting great reviews and funny enough they are top tyre in the Ride magazine this month.
If you want to go off road then don't put these on, you can use them on gravel tracks and back roads.
They are a Sports touring tyre and a bit expensive but Hay hoy life is to short to worry about money  :008:

Too be fair they are ok, but I think I can do better. When I had my Tiger 800 they came with Scorpion trail 1 and they where rubbish change them after 50 miles to PR 4 which was a great tyre. They now make PR5 but not in 950 Sizes so it's will be the roadtec 01.

Well got my new Avon Trailriders fitted and had a bit of a blast pre snow arriving last Sunday, very pleased and pushing on hard after the first 100 mile scrub in they give great feedback and really seem to dig in to the road and just grip. Very confidence inspiring. Did have these on a previous Tiger 800 and liked them and wife has them on her F700gs and thinks they are so good she never mentions them... :008: :164:

I liked the Scorpion Trail 2. Cheap and long mileage.
Tryed the Dunlop Roadsmart 3. Strange feelings with front tyre.
Now I mounted the Roadtec01... hmmm Things starts to become serious. Super sticky! you can ride all the rubber they give you on the front tyre and use all the profile avaiable... amazing and very safe. Lets see how many Km the last.

I've ridden on Scorpion Trails for many years on three different bikes and always found them OK. I tried Dunlops and Avons and to be honest could hardly tell the difference. Then I tries Anakee 3's and it was like a revelation in grip. I'll probably try these next but at the moment the Scorpions are holding up really well, apart from feeling a bit loose on the rear at motorway speeds but that might just be the crap road conditions at the moment  :006:
Anything more than two wheels is unnecessary.
