    Leaking front master cylinder

Looks like a new master cylinder under warranty. There has been some weeping of fluid for some time, which I've periodically been wiping off. I've also tweaked the reservoir cap screws but obviously didn't want to do this too much. Stopped by at my dealer this morning. They cleaned it all up, including the membrane under the lid, but after a ride home this is what it looks like.....still leaking. Service guy said they've replaced a few of these under warranty, but not as yet the MTS950. I guess there has to be a first!

    That's unlucky NeilB.

Don't think anyone of us have seen that problem before - but thanks for sharing.

I'm sure your dealer will sort it out in no time  :001:

The dealer is good and there'll be no problem with replacing it.

That is very timely Neil, because I'm starting to get a bit alarmed by the amount of movement in my front brake arm before the brakes bite. Last time I had this fault (on a Triumph) it was the master cylinder passing  :084:
It's going in for a service in the next two weeks so I will ask them to take a look  :028:

New master cylinder on its way to my dealer. Should be fitted next week.

All sorted today. Let's hope the new one keeps the fluid in the right place!

Have to say that there is noticeably less travel on the lever until the brakes bite. Mention it to your dealer, Conman.

Ooh it's turned into a long story that I'm going to compose as a 9000 mile service report when I get time (hopefully over Easter).

However the service manager did say it is a "thing" that Ducatis can pull air into the fluid with use but no visible leaks. He said they usually get to the service when the fluid is changed so it tends to be no problem. However we are now running to 9000 miles not 6000 so this may become an issue.
