    Stoplight wiring for Givi box

I have the Givi V47  topcase mounted and I installed the stoplight led kit in the V47. BUt I have temporarily given up on the wiring connection to the MTS stoplight wires. I was unable to figure out how to remove the Plate holder. I am using the 2016 MTS Enduro service manual as it is the best I can get for now. According to ther manual to gert access to the tailight you remove the licence plate holder by removing six screws, 4 on top and two on the bottom. But on the 950 bottom there are 6 screws. I removed the two that seemd to correspond to the manual picture but the plate would not move.  :027: I am afraid if I do it wrong I will not be able to get it back together and I have a 3000 mile trip out west next week. The light hookup will have to wait til I get back! I also ordered a radiator guard and will mount that for the trip if it comes in time.
We're lost but we're making great time!

Thanks Murph but I could not see how to remove the number plate. Which screws to remove on the underside? All of them?

    That's correct  :028:

Sorry hit wrong button (didn’t mean to remove), I can’t remember as wasn’t looking for it whether the connector for the tail light was one of those under this section or if more has to be removed for access to the tail light.

Thanks! The connector is up top, can get to it by just removing seat.

    Hi Lather,
Where up top did you find the connector? Where is it when you remove the seat. It looks like all the wiring is under the tool kit space which looks like a pain to remove.
    Thanks,

The connector is buried a bit, on the right (throttle side) just about where the front and rear seats join. The three wires are in a sleeve, I slit it open to get to the black ground, earth for you in UK and the red with white stripe is brake. I did not use the blue connectors, I soldered the wires together and sealed with shrink tape.

I got the job done finally.  Real pain in the a$$.

Thanks so much for the advice Lather. I was able to locate the brake light lead as well.
I have attached a picture of what it looks like in case anyone else cares to look.
On my bike, the lead is a very light grey with a red stripe.

Thanks for the info and photo. I am considering getting a top box with lights. Just before I start the job has any one found a feed for a topbox brake light yet. The feeds do keep turning up i.e. sat nav feed, spotlight feed, trickle charge etc.
Does the Ducati top box have a brake light, if so there must be a feed somewhere.
