    demo bike purchase?

Looking to pick up a demo 2017 mutli 950.  I have never bought a demo but if i can get out the door for 15K with tax title and all the hidden extra I think I would be happy.

Is this something that I should be trying to get down is price?  There is 128miles, 30 of which is me.  The bike comes as standard as possible, no add on, just what I think is a good deal for an amazing bike.

Any one out there have experience with buying a demo bike?  Should I be looking out for anything or asking for more from the dealer?

Side Note: Im very bad at negotiating.

    Thanks for any opinions,

    Jessop

What's the price of a new one?

    Regarding negotiation - NEGOTIATE!

If they won't reduce the price, then try and get an extra - fitted free of charge - or at a reduced price. (eg. rear top case, panniers, centre stand, scottoiler for the chain, etc. I presume you don't need heated grips :017:)

Failing all that, or added to that, try and get the first service free of charge as this can be a tidy sum of money.

Anyway, they are a great bike - enjoy!

I have purchased demo bikes in the past and would if the deal was right buy again. Usually they are well looked after and the one you are looking at hasn’t got much mileage on it. I always take the attitude if you don’t ask you don’t get so always will push for something, free first service is usually a good starting point. Discount on extras if you are thinking of buying in future is always another usually 20% is in my experience quite common. Obviously things may be different your side of the water but don’t be afraid to ask.

Beitsta, a new multi 950 at my dealership starts at $13,995, freight and set up $795, city tax is about $1300, registration should be around $200 and about another $1000 for additional destination charges, more tax / fees etc, for a grand total of about $17,200.

I will defiantly try to get a few items at a discount (comfort seat, exhaust, top box, center stand, radiator protection) and the first service for free as i think that is executable because this is a demo bike.

Thank you for the positive words, figures crossed!

Lambert, I'm happy to here the consistent suggestions of free first service, and discount on parts. I definitely will talk to the dealer about all of this.

Thank you both for your words of wisdom.  :047:

Jessop, I’m late to the party here, so maybe you already bought it. I was in exactly your situation. Demo bike, similar miles. I offered US$17,000 for the bike, plus the Urban and Touring packages, installed. They countered at $17,500 and I accepted. That was the out the door price including tax, title, license and all dealer fees.
