    rusting exhaust

if there was one thing that I do not like about the mts 950, it is the way that the exhaust at the header is rusting. I think that it is an absolute disgrace that a 11k bike has such rubbish steel on the header pipe. Is this the case with everyone else or have some of you been able to treat it with something that has sorted it out.

I also had some signs of rust on the exhaust, but took a picture of it and sent it to my dealer and had it changed under warranty

What the dealer said murf46 was it should only discolour and not rust but only time will tell,
I have coated in in ACF50 and hope this keeps the rust back .

Your probably right murf46. I was thinking of painting it black with fireproof paint

    Mine isn’t that great either.
The moment I saw the 950 I was in need of a new bike - that one 😍
But one year on sadly the gloss is being eroded with annoying little issues.
Rust and corrosion appearing is several places, in particular on fastenings and brake adjusters, pedal area and banjos, rear brake pads are shot and the chain is giving concern.
This bike has been pampered like no other bike of mine has been - ACF 50 from before taken on the road, ‘e’ Scottoiler, vinyl coating on all areas front of the seat.  Regularly washed, dried with warm air drier, re ACF’d, covered and garaged, and still not rust/corrosion free - very disappointing.
Full of enthusiasm - in all the wrong places
