Givi part number D7406ST. Bought for £80 and only used for one journey, so like new (now I've cleaned the bugs off!)  Didn't work for me as I'm 6' 3" -  too much buffeting.
Will sell for £60 plus £5 p&p. Please pm me if interested.

    Hi Fisgardkid,

I’m trying to decide what screen to buy that will solve the buffeting issue that I have with the standard screen.

Forgive me for asking, but you say the Givi D7406ST did not work for you regarding the buffeting. I presume no matter what height you or I are that the Givi screen would not stop the buffeting.

I know if you are taller than me then your head would be more exposed to the wind blast coming over the top of the screen - but surely the buffeting is different?

You say you are not selling the Givi - are you going to re-use it? I only ask because I am trying to solve this issue

    Hi Beitsta,

I had read on a 1200 forum that the screen had worked great for a lad my height so had high hopes. That wasn't my experience. As soon as I set off I had mild but irritating buffeting around my helmet, which I don't suffer from with the stock screen, regardless of what height it was set to. The standard screen is pretty noisy even with moulded earplugs but no buffeting for me. I am hanging onto the Givi screen because I am about to change my bike for a 1260 which may (or may not!) have different airflow characteristics. We'll see.

I have recently fitted a Puig double bubble racing screen (short, similar in size and shape to the screen fitted as standard to Pikes Peak 1200/60s). Zero buffeting and much less noise than either the stock screen or the Givi. I can ride quite comfortably with my visor up at anything up to 50mph as my helmet is in smooth non-turbulent air. The shorter screen also looks pretty nice - mine is lightly tinted and doesn't intrude anywhere near my eye line, which the Givi begins to. Good luck in your search for the holy grail!
