    Fit and finish issues

Hi guys, does anyone else have an issue with the grey plastic molding at the front of the tank around the ignition switch?? Mine looks like a child installed it, and when I talked to the dealer about it the tech tried realign it but actually made it look worse, then said they are all like that??? Its in three sections and both sides are very noticeably not symmetrical, it really bugs me as it's under my nose

    Rory

No, that black moulding certainly shouldn’t be like that. Mine, and others I’ve looked at have about an 1/8 inch gap between the black and the red plastics. Your dealer is bullshi**ing you.

Cheers for the reply Neil, thought as much. Unfortunately there is only the one main dealer in this country soo my options are limited 🤬🤬🤬

Have you tried refitting it yourself. Easy to get off but a bit fiddly to put back. Pull off the black plastic ignition-switch surround, remove the two screws and slide the black panel forward. Youll then see how it slots back.

I noticed a bit of a gap; well a difference from LHS to RHS and tried to correct it but got nowhere. This is mine, judge yourself whether yours is worse. On a day to day basis I don't notice it...

Not the best photo I've ever uploaded  :008:
Anything more than two wheels is unnecessary.

How did you go about it mate, was looking for some guide on how the plastic go together. Cannot find a workshop manual anywhere and really don't want to snap any tabs on a bike thats 3 weeks old.

Right, I’ve just been in the garage with a ruler; the gap on the right side is just under 1/4 inch and on the left side there is barely a gap. Never noticed this before, but from now on it’s going to stick out like a festering boil. See what you’ve gone and done  :172:

Not sure if this youtube link might help anyone who want to play with the parts ( 2015 Ducati Multistrada Bodywork Install) . I copied it into my favourites some time ago as it looked kind of a handy reference
