    Peak District Rideout

    We have planned a rideout around the Peak District for Sunday 3rd June with meeting points at McDonalds Pilsworth and Travis Perkins, Glossop. All details are below and if you're on Facebook, please indicate through that medium if you're coming and provide the details requested.     Please note that our next rideout is also in planning for 8th July and is likely to be to Hartside Cafe, Alstom. We are aware that the cafe is unlikely to have re-opened by then due to the fire in March.

    Peak District Rideout - Sunday June 3rd

    Meeting point 1. The car park next to McDonalds, Pilsworth. (Opposite ASDA Pilsworth, J3 M66) meet 09.15 for 09.30 departure.

    M66 – M60 – M67 –A57 Glossop.

    Meeting point 2. Travis Perkins, Glossop 10.00 – 10.15

    A624 to Chapel-En-Le-Frith.

    At junction with A6 right (3rd exit) then onto A6 until the next roundabout, 1st exit onto the A623 to Baslow.

    At Baslow left onto the A619 heading for Chesterfield until the B6050. Turn left onto the B6050.

    Keep on the B6050 until the junction with the B6051 then left onto the B6051.

    At the junction with the A621, B6051 and B6054 take the B6054 until the junction with the A625 then turn left onto the A625 towards Calver.

    At the junction with the A625 and B6001 (just before Calver) turn right and follow this road which becomes the B6521 then left onto the B6001 to Hathersage.

    At Hathersage turn left onto the A6187 then right onto the A6013 through Bamford to the junction with the A57 then left toward Glossop.

    Just after the junction turn right (signposted Derwent Water) onto an unclassified road, carry-on up the road until you reach a roundabout, turn right into the car park, time for a brew.

    Back to the A57 and right toward Glossop, following the A57. When you reach Glossop you can make your own way home.

    From Pilsworth back to Pilsworth the distance is about 115 miles, 3.5 to 4 hours depending on stops so we should be back around 14.00.

    There are fuel stations on route but please make sure you have enough fuel before setting off, if you will need to stop en-route please tell the lead rider.

    At junctions please lookout for the rider following you, if you can’t see anyone please park safely if possible, until the next rider comes along and indicates to turn, try to make sure they’re one of our group and hopefully we should be able to stay together but there will be short stops to allow for re-grouping.

    This is open to anyone who would like to join us. Group members, observers, past members, associates and friends.

    This run is being organised by a member of the Bury and Rochdale Advanced Motorists (BRAM) but this is not an official IAM or BRAM sanctioned event.

    There will be no coaching or guidance given during this ride, this is a social event for people in the Bury and Rochdale area who would like to come along to meet and ride with like minded individuals.
