Ok all - I'll start of this thread.

List your recommended hotels that you've used in the past whilst on tour.

Only good ones get on this list!  :169:

Area - UK, South Wales - good base for exploring Brecon Beacons and Mid Wales
Hotel Name - Foyles of Glasbury
    Website - http://foylesofglasbury.co.uk/
    Address - B4350, Glasbury, Hereford HR3 5LH
Room rate - £95 (a bit pricey but its a lovely hotel and the single room is magnificent)
    Onsite Restaurant - Yes
Off road parking - Yes (free)
Secure overnight parking facility (eg lockable garage) - No
Reason for recommendation - Fabulously posh modern hotel, lovely people, great food and good variety of on tap beers, ideal location for touring mid and south Wales. I've stayed there twice now!

If you ever fancy a tour of Spain have a look at this site https://www.keytel.co.uk/parador_home.html?gclid=Cj0KCQjwvLLZBRDrARIsADU6ojCRQ8SvN-Kzvvq4Bo6S2yJaaPlsxb49Aftv1zq5XIxUuACwtkQlql4aAqRrEALw_wcB

Spanish Paradores, luxury hotel accommodation in Castles, Palaces, Convents, Monasteries, Fortresses and other historic buildings. in areas of outstanding beauty.

The Parador hotels are throughout Spain, from Galicia in the North to Andalusia in the South,
The building is often part of the heritage of Spain although there are some modern hotels in a spectacular location. If this is the first stay at one of these Spain hotels, you will find there is most pleasant surprise waiting.

A five night deal works out at £250 pp but remember these are fantastic hotels.
My friends and I have stayed at over 20 of these paradors over the years you can't go wrong
We would normally book five separate paradors about 200 miles apart

Having stayed in PARADOR's I can agree some are in beautiful locations and the food good. However they can be a little pricier for beer in the evening

For a cheap break for South Wales. Try the St Briavels YHA (hostel). It's actually within Gloucester.
This is the best one I have stayed at and only £25 per night and add £4 for a full English breakfast. If you go as a group it's better to be in a dorm with guys you know than complete strangers.
It's set in a Medieval castle. There is a pub just down the road called The George Inn that serve some fantastic food at a great price.
The address is, Church St, Saint Briavels, St Briavels, Lydney GL15 6TA

If anyone is going to or planning to go to Assen. I stayed last year at this fantastic cheap B&B that is just 20mins away from the Circuit.
It's called, B&B Gasteren. De Hoek 29, 9466 PC Gasteren, Netherlands

You get a continental breakfast so you can make your own sandwiches with the bread, meat and cheese etc. to take to the track. It's in a very quiet village but Assen is nearby for restaurants / Bars etc.
The year before I stayed in a similar B&B in a village called "Loon"
They are on booking.com and great value. I'm staying in a different place next weekend near these village's so I'll hopefully report back what it was like.
I missed out on the other places because they don't have many rooms so that is the down-side using places like that.
